Oil change every 6000 miles as recommended.
There is only one accurate way to measure oil consumption, that is measure it over a long period, easiest way with a 5litre top can ready at all times.
I buy 10 litres, in 2 5litre containers of it every 6000 miles, change the oil and have the rest to top up until the next change.
if you buy 1 litre cans as required this is more expensive and easier to lose count.
I check my oil 2 twice a week when it is cold and it does not take long.
i just bought some valvoline maxlife 10w40, 10 litres for £48 delivered.
I dont think that is expensive.
i tried some shell helix racing 10w60 for a while but it was expensive 12 litres £85.
I drove to Scotland last week and took my 5 litre can in the boot just in case as it was a 650mile trip in one day.
