Right, sounds very much like the obvious then !
The only other possible variable, could be the dampers are not original fitment but i can not see that a pattern damper would be that much different in size, if at all, to the OE fitment !
Finally, are all four springs exactly the same?
no, the front springs are cones, the rears are pear-ish shaped (almost straight, but not quite)
i don't see why any dampers would differ in size, OE or not?? (as in fixing points)
front springs: top - 95mm, bottom - 62mm
rear springs: top - 84mm, bottom - 62mm (may have these 2 mixed up, can't tell which way is up, i'm no mechanic)
i can't get my OE measurements as the garage went and put them back on my car so i could get it out of their garage. anyone by any chance have OE measurements?
Keep forgetting to say - thanks for this guys, it's a really big help. i wouldn't mind the wrong items if they were advertised as "unknown", but they cost £60 and the labour charges for taking off/putting back on my original front springs was £90!!!
