Annual Service - Good price & Do I really need one?
I've had the dreaded "Your Service is due in less than 28 days" appear on my display unit. A local dealer is offering the following for £109.99
Change oil, oil filter & sump plug washer (where fitted)
Check operation of lights
Check washers & wipers
Check brake pipes & lines
Check exhaust system
Inspect tyres, report on tyre tread depth & set pressures
Visually check cooling system for leaks
Check antifreeze content
Check drive belts (excludes cam belt)
Check all fluid levels
Check battery condition
Visually check front brake pad & discs
Seems reasonable and I get a Mito / Giulietta as a coutesy car for the day.
Q1: Good price or rip off
Q2: Is it really worth it on a '53 156 that's only worth about £2000 max?
(Bonnet, front wings and fromt bumper have peeling laqueur and need respraying £300)
Q3: Service or paintwork? Can't afford both!
Your advice/help on this is, as always very much appreciated!
