Re: Charging like a wounded Rhino!
What I would do is get some quotes over the phone from local dealers such as Caledonia and then go to Mangoletsi with those.
I know the Service Desk Manager and they will not lose business on price. They even changed my front disks and pads at less than Halfords AA Centre were going to charge and they were the cheapest I'd found thus far.
They are not daft, they know how much independents pay for parts as they probably came from Mangoletsi in the first place (often by a tortous route) and they know how much labour is, so you won't be able to pull the wool over their eyes, but they will beat a genuine quote.
It is a long job and you may need to take the car in very very early or the night before as everything has to be stone cold before they start to take it apart. You're going to ask how much I paid now aren't you - well I can't remember but it was less than £800 and at Caledonia in Warrington, purely because they could fit me in and I would have gone over the Warranty/Mileage/Invalidation limit if I hadn't had it done by then.
(Are Westune in Bolton still going?)
