Two things can affect loss of contact in the middle of the blade.
(1) Low wiper arm spring pressure or friction in the arm's hinge at the head joint. Cleaning and lubrication is good as a first step make sure it 'Rotates / Hinges' without roughness or friction if possible. You dont need to take it apart.
(2) A bent or distorted metal strip in the wiper rubber itself. If you can remove it and check it for flatness.
If you find this doesn't work you can increase the pressure in the middle by slightly bending the metal strip into a constant radius to force more pressure in the centre. To do that the curvature needs to be the opposite direction of the screen curvature.
The over-wiping onto the A pillar is probably wear in the linkage - Perhaps a 156 owner might have had the same problem in the past?
'A business absolutely devoted to service will have only one worry about profits. They will be embarrassingly large.' - Henry Ford.
