Which Oil for my 156

Hi all,

I expect this has been asked many many times before. So apologies in advance.

I have recently bought a 156 sportwagon 1.8 petrol manual. This is a very basic question but one I need to know. I have read that Alfa recommend different Selenia oils for differnet mileage engines. Mine is on 64k.
Could someone let me know which is the best one please. (and where is the cheapest place to get it from) I live in South Wales past Swansea. My nearest dealer is in Cardiff, which I wont be using. My local tame garage are brilliant, but they use 1 stock oil for most cars. My plan is buy the oil and filter and give it to them to sort out. My 156 is in very good condition for a 9 year old car and I want to keep it that way. So using recommended oils etc I reckon is a must. What do you think.
All advice gratefully accepted.

Thanks in advance.

Oil questions are asked lots of times but any 10w/40 semi-synthetic of right spec will do ie A3/SL iirc

No need to use Selenia. Morrisons on their petrol forecourts usually have decent offer on Havoline 10/40 semi around 15 for 5l

Don't worry about it being Selenia, just worry about keeping it topped up
