Hi all,

I am new to these forums, I have trawled through a lot of selespeed stuff, but cant seem to match my problem, my car worked perfect until a few months ago.

I got a low oil pressure message, and selespeed system fault flashing on the display, ok, checked my selespeed oil, and it was dry or almost, replaced it with the correct stuff, and the problem gradually went away, and got rid of that constant beeping and error message.

Now the levels of all Oils are ok, but I am getting the selespeed System fault again, but it runs perfect on my journeys, however my wife says occasionally in traffic, it decides to slip out of gear, on slow runs or school runs @ less than 10-20 mph. We get the occasional low oil pressure, but the levels are fine.

I do not hear the motor kick in when I open the door like I used to, in fact I have not heard it since the first fault. Would this sound like I have a problem on the pump, if so, how come its only an intermittent fault?

Sorry for such a long first post, its just I bought this car then got made redundant, so I cant afford to be ripped off by some main dealer here. I am in Leeds, and cant find any private specialists.

thanks is advance

No problem about length and welcome, it does sound like a pump problem, but on the 147 the pump relay is between the battery and thermostat on a little braket, give this a wiggle and see if it solves the problem, if not then there is something else to try but you need diagnostics for that.

^^^ What he said
If you are willing to get your hands dirty.

You can also swap out the relay with one in the fuse box directly in frount of the battery. Just watch out because that is a fan relay. You could also test the pump and relays by hand. That does how ever depend on your level of experince with cars and or electrical work.
