This is not the only article I have seen relating to Resonators but they all seem to agree that they have nothing to do with noise but in actual fact increase power. I have seen other reports of Dyno tests both before and after removing the Resonator and they all show less power without the Resonator.
er that article actually says several times it IS for noise reduction - what they say is it is ALSO for more power. David c poss has the facts for AR TS enmgines?
They may be correct on the cars they tested? One thing is for sure, I had My BMC filter weeks before I did the intake mod, and....
When I did the mod, the increase in pull and acceleration and especially low down torque was instantly noticable, and large enough to discount any placebo effects, and I think most who have done it would agree. It def improves an TS engine - on one dual carraige way section i sprint on, I used to reach 90 , now can get 97 ish, and most ever 105 (KPH of course officer
). anyone got Dyno results.
Anycase AD I feel are respected and would not sell an mod that didn't work (even if they would rip you off for it) and they do exactly this mod
Also before removing it, the car would not pull at all below 1800 RPM in fifth. Now it pulls from under 1200RPM (errata when i said before 1500) in 5th no probs!
maybe I am wrong but 100% sure that my cars performance and esp low pulling is much better, although it perhaps is marginally nosier at wide throttle opening (not enough to be an issue at all)
Also BMC CDA remove the resonator, and they can show you 10- even 15 HP gains on all sorts of cars.
So mine stays off!
