Early 156 Heater

Our early 156 has a heater that is playing up. Will give hot or cold air fine, but any setting between the extremes gives (at best) mildly warm air.

I have taken out the centre console trim and cleaned the dust out of the temperature sensor there but it hasn't improved things. The fan does spin.

Looking around it seems there are a couple of other sensors for temperature, one each on the inlet and outlet of the heater. What is the best way to get at these and can they be tested in place?

All the best

Hi Keith,

I've had this issue too, so will be interested to hear if anyone knows what causes it, and more to the point what the fix is?

Sorry I can't help, but lets hope someone is in the know
