Where are you buying from? Got a link? I've just bought one.
There are lots of threads with lots of advice. The obvious points are make sure the cambelt has been done every 36k miles OR three years, whichever is shorter. Then look for evidence of it being run with low oil - either paperwork, the current oil level or signs like engine knock.
The former owner of my new car neglected both of these. The cambelt broke at 54k miles and cost him just shy of £3000. Low oil led to engine rattle and the camshaft & bearings were replaced, £1500.
Other than that, you pay your money & take your chances, same as every car. Every owner I know in real life got on well with theirs. Here is maybe a bit more mixed, still good overall, and it's naturally so because people come to talk about issues.
