I had the side light bulb replaced in the 156GTA, and immediatley after the unit was full of heavy condensation, then the xenon failed. I don't want to pay 700 for the replacement, are there any other options? replace with standards from a breakers yard?

why would it cost you 700? surely just a replacement xenon bulb is needed, which would be around 30-60 I'd have thought?

It will either be a new HID bulbs needed or the ballast unit (mounted under the headlight).
Neither of those cost anywhere near 700...!

Do some testing:
1. check the fuse: one for each side
2. if fuse ok, then swap the globes around

If the globe is ok (and the good globe from the other side doesn't light up), then it could be the ballast, which is the most expensive part. Wrecker, or aftermarket are options to replace it.
