Re: 156 Front Suspension Lower Wishbones
Just been under the 156 to check the parts I need. Lots of movement in the lower arms if you lever the wheel (I used the wheel brace across the wheel). You can hear it knock if you give it a sharp pull and see the arm move! And there are signs that the tyres have been rubbing on back of the inner arch!!! No wonder that snow chains are not avail on a 156 with 16"+ and lowered suspension.
So it's two new lowers arms and I'm going to replace the uppers as well while the lots in bits. Seems silly not too. I'll post up-to-date prices and info such as how long it took here later.
My under tray is shot to pieces. It's been off several times in the past couple of months for oil changes, etc., and it's literally falling apart! Might see how much these are from Alfa, or buy a rivet gun to repair.
One little bit though is my ball joint splitter, which is a heavy angle lump with a screw through it won't work. It's too small for the bottom ball joint and fouls on the suspension on the upper. So it's probably down to Halfords for one like a fork and get out the big lump hammer!!
