I have had my 53-plate 156 JTS for a year now and recently took it for its 72000 mile service at Alfanatic. They came back to me with a recommendation topping £1560 worth of work which needed doing
. List included New radiator, Replace Front Brakes, Rear left tyre, new Air Filter Housing, replace offside Outer CV Boot, Handbrake cables (one had snapped), Milometer light, offside front fog light.
Also engine undertray is hanging off, suspension squeaks front and back over humps and there is a ticking from the N/S/F when I turn right.
So I decided to get into DIY mechanics and have started work, handbrake cables have been replaced (Pat self on back
). The car has the radiator out and new one ready to go in but is being held up by the air box.
The MAF is secured to three bolts on the lid, one of the nuts cannot be removed because the bolt is no longer set firm in the plastic. Would heating the plastic to re-set it be an option? Otherwise does anybody know of a good source for this part (I bought the wrong one off ebay for the earlier twin sparks if somebody wants to make an offer).
Whilst I have access to the air box and resonator I would also like to do the GTA air intake mod (for a bit of fun) but have no idea where to source the parts.
Any advise or help is greatly appreciated.
