Yes and no, if it does indeed need a new actuator it will cost that much, chances are it will not though. Dealers do tend to give that as their stock answer as the acctuator has no servicable parts inside, however it could also be the
pump relay, easy to change and £15
pump itself, £280 for the part and £100 or so for the labour
the accumulator, part of the acctuator, not available to Alfa dealers but it is to Fiat dealers, about £60 plus fitting
or some sensor, not available from dealers, but is available on UK ebay as it is shared with some Peugeot cars and Ducati bikes
any other symptoms, when it is playing up in the morning, does the pump make the sound on opening the door, does the pump run longer or shorter than it should (5-8 seconds approx), is it losing fluid and need topping up?
