Does my 147 sit high? Pics inc

Hi all,

I bought my 147 a couple of days ago!

I have a classic mini which is lowered, i am used to looking at it! SO when i was looking at the alfa today (after a 5 hour polish, which included removing rubber door protectors = nightmare). I wonder if it sits very high or is it just me?

That looks pretty normal for a 1.6 on 15" wheels.

Here's mine, also on 15" rims. Looks pretty much the same.

Put some 18" alloys on it. That'll sort it out nice colour btw

I don't know why some Alfa's have such a big gap between tyre and wheel arch mine was similar to yours, i fitted some lowered springs to my car, dropped about 1" kept the 16" teledials, big improvement in looks, still have a gap ( 50mm approx) between arch and tyre but it looks much better, low enough for me ( not keen on look of cars with tyres sitting tight under arches).
I would suggest lowering springs, but not any more than 25/ 30mm just to give a more balanced look..

Ok thats put my mind at rest! Yeah a set of 17" wheels would be nice. But i will need to wait the winter out as we need winter tyres here in sweden and i can imagine (even if they make them) that a set of 17" low profile studded tyres might be a tad expensive!

I have a look at the lowering springs also! Does this have any adverse effects I.E speed bumps, steep inclimbs etc?

I already have one totally impractical car because of lowering -
