2.0JTS - Flat plastic tank leaking coolant ! What is this thing ?
I have a 2005 2.0JTS
I'm losing coolant
I can see at the front of the engine, just down below the leading edge of the plastic rocker cover, there is (what looks like) an odd shaped long black flattish plastic tank. Left and right side to this are the main coolant hoses attached. 'Seems' to be something the coolant passes through prior, or after, radiator cooling
A seam runs along it's length (L to R). It is on this seam that the coolant is leaking
I think it's slightly exaggerated by the fact the cooling fan is also blowing leaking coolant around the front of the engine. Checked the hose (RHS) and its tight.
1) What is this tank or component ?
2) Suggestions on how to cure its leak ?
3) Will a 'rad seal liquid' put it to bed ?
I've not gone so far as to look to deep yet..... as I'm not sure what I'm really dealing with until I hear back from you
(I have some jpeg piccies, but cannot load em on here as to big at 2Mb)
Really appreciate help. Cheers Neil
