Help Sat Nav CD needed for 2005 Alfa GT

HI - I have recently traded in my beautiful 1999 GTV 3.0 V6 for a still beautiful but much newer (and safer!) 2005 GT 3.2 V6. It has sat nav - but no CD to install / run it. Does anyone know where I can buy the CD/s at a good price?

Thanks in advance!!

I'd like a newer disc if anyone knows where to get them from. Mines 2006 but would like a 2010 one. Too many times have I been on new road systems that aren't featured!!

You'll have to buy one. There are ways to copy them (I have the file for mine), but they need to be burnt using special software at 1x, which most modern burners are incapable of.

I think it's pretty bad that a 1k option doesn't come with free upgrade discs for life, or at least for a nominal admin fee. It's cheaper for me to buy a new TomTom (which is a better SatNav tbh) than to keep my in car one up to date, which seems daft to me.

Mine work OK burnt with 16x speed on some LG burner and TDK CDs. Sometimes I need to reinstert CD 2-3 times so that the unit recognizes it but as my player skips also on original audio CDs and has probelms to read them I guess its more a problem of dirty optics of my unit (or stiff suspension of my car as the CDs jump too much )

Anyway, Connect NAV+ navigation features come from the last century and the cheapers portable navigation today does a better job. Sometimes I play with Alfa system in the garage, but in the end what I really use is iGO8 on my PDA.

I managed to get a 2007 disc on ebay for 10! Works fine but just not as good as a Tom Tom. PLus I find it quite distracting to keep looking down at the middle of the dash reather than at the window where my Tom Tom in.
Cheers for advice.

Well i burned allready 2009 and 2010 for my 2004 GT with no problems, used my LG writer and Samsung CD's, burned them even @ 24x. Might be just lucky or probably have a good cd-writer

Navteq 2010 UK Map CD.

Download it for free from here:

Navteq UK & Ireland 2010 (Connect (NIT G1) - UK/Ireland) - Demonoid

Just burn it to a CD.

I managed to burn the latest navteq nav cd for my alfa gt 2006. It worked!

This is how i managed to do it:

- downloaded the maps (Benelux in my case) from here: GbcNet Community

- Burned it using a philips CD-R at speed 4x. However, i first tried it with a cheap CD-rw, it failed.

the firmware of the nav system on my car is 4.08. I dont know how to update that one?!

btw, i know this thread is very old but still i replied cuz someone like me might be searching for the same thing.

Dear friend,

I have the same car ALFA ROMEO GT 2006 with sw 4.08.

I understand everything you done but I have another problem if someone can help me.

I have tried to change language from Italian to English (for voice commands) and it requires setup cd which I dont have. Where can I find that setup software and download it?

Best regards,

Bane
