I have a problem with the electrical system on my 156, can anyone help??
First of all i have used a circuit tester (the type that lights up when something is draining the battery) i connected this and pulled all of the fuses under the dash one by one and replaced them if the light did not go out, pulled and replace them all with no luck as to what is draining the battery.
I have 2 questions.
what are these main fuses under the bonnet for ( don't have any manual for the car)
and what is the one i have marked in the picture for as this is the only fuse that makes the tester light go out when removed. the fuse reads J/B1 80A
one more thing, when i got the car back (it used to be mine 2yrs ago but i sold it, then when the buyer who was a friend of my wife bought herself a BMW she gave it back to me for nothing, i could see why when i got it back as her husband had removed the whole dash, why i don't know?. so i had to install the dash back into the car, i thought i had attached everything in the correct order, but one thing bugs me.
The hazard warning light connections the black and the white clip, seemed to fit in on any side of the switch, so have i put these on the wrong way and could this be causing the short?.
Any help with a pic of how they should be or any help at all would be great, as i have to charge the battery if i leave it staning connected for over 3 or 4 days.
