After years of excrutiating pain and watching how time goes by, without
one of my most desirable objects since late 1997, the wait is finally over.
Project was started in late 1997.
Years and kilometres passed by,
project was postponed from one year to another... but, two weeks ago
one phone call changed everything.
All this time I wanted to buy 156, preferably 2.5 or 2.0, but since I live
in country where you have to spend a fortune on taxes and custom duties,
I settled for the used 156. Of course, my recent analysis of how the value
of the new car falls quickly, assured me that I should hunt for the car
2-3 years old.
Finally, I bought a beautiful red 156 2.5 V6 ( 07/2000 ). The car
had only one owner ( who ordered it in Jan-2000 ) and it was used
only for the long distance trips, and in the mean time it stayed in the
Sport Pack 3
Grey Momo Leather
complete ICE system
The car was purhcased in my home town and serviced by the same dealer,
so it was very easy to check cars history and service details.
It took me so long because I didn't wanted to buy a car imported
from Germany or Belgium ( or else ) because the importers are able
to sell basically everything here ( no matter of the car history ) and
they are exploiting current situtation without any state regulation.
Yesterday morning I settled everything with the previous owner
and after a whole day spent on work, I took the car and drove more than 100km around my home town.
The car is absolutely fantastic and the fact that I own it didn't yet
reached my mind.
Any suggestions are more than welcome.
Currently, the car is sitting on 16" alloys ( 5-dials ) with 205/5x/16
tyres.... I want to know what would be the next bigger suitable dimension?
17" ? 215/45/17?
Unfortunately for some of you here, I'm a big fan of the big rear wing spoiler...
I think it would get along with the Alfa rosso colour very well...
That's all for now... pictures will follow as soon as the bloody rain stops.
