special way to drive it?
special way to maintain it !
can i install an amplifier and a woofer on the original headunit:P?
Off the line it will lack a little on some cars as the ratios are longer however because there are fewer gear changes to be made and the Q-system is a quick change you will claw it back, it is not a slow car by any means but you will see on a test drive.....be sure to test the "sport" button, should be near the gear selector, basicly when in full auto mode it will change gear much later in the rev range and change down much sooner to ensure your always on the power...make sure it works as obviously this could be a sign of a fault if not....also as your sat in the car and select drive, just feel how it selects the gear..you should be able to feel it engage but it shouldnt be excessivly lumpy so if there is any loud knocks as it engages then question it at the time, As you may know you can also select the gears semi manual (without the use of a clutch) this is how i use mine when i want to have a bit of fun and the car will beep at you to tell when to change up a gear
When you select reverse the car will emit a on off beeping tone....this is normall to tell you you are in reverse so dont panic when you hear it, as for maintainence just keep the servicing regular use the best garage you have available to you and preferably someone who understands the engine and the car in general
The only problems i had with mine is trivial, a suspension bush, wheel bearing....just the usual stuff. Providing you keep the servicing up to date then these cars look after themself. The Q-system is IMO the most reliable auto transmition Alfa do!
I have managed to get 145mph (indicated) out of mine and it doesnt take lont to get there, one fault i did have with mine was the MAF (air flow sensor) was faulty, basicly if i put my foot down and went through the rev range, it would get to 5000rpm and stop...i couldnt get it to rev any further and the power just wasnt there, these are easy to fix....its a Diy job but be warned they are not cheap! If the car has any symptoms like that then again question the dealer and you could use it to your advantage to get the price down! Make sure you do take it through the full rev range and keep an eye out for the usual signs of smoke etc from the exhaust but there shouldnt be any troubles. My car has 98,000 miles on it now and still runs sweet!
