Hi, welcome, and good choice of car
The rear bushes are prone to failure on this model. I had mine replaced at 27,000 miles but the right hand one had been knocking since about 20,000. The parts are pennies, but the design is such that you really need to remove the rear disc to get to the bush.
Allow about £3.00 per bush and 1.5hours labour per side. No chance whatsoever of getting it through on warranty.... It's a wear and tear item, innit guv.
On mine the RHS bush had totally disintergrated, allowing nearly half an inch of side-to-side play on the arm. Fitting the new bushes will seriously tighten up the handling.
As for tyres, I'm running Michelin Pilot Sports all round. Had them fitted 21,000 miles ago and I would say I still have another 4,000-5,000 to the legal limit on the front, loads on the rear. A good handling allround tyre and quieter than the Conti Contact sports that came with the car. I've had my JTD chipped and I rag the nuts off her (Shum mishtake, shurely) but still rate this tyre for 25,000 on the front, which isn't bad for a car of this weight and performance.
