Re: 156 Rear Suspension noises + tires
It still happens from time to time and it's usually when, erm, making progress on twisty A and B roads. This evening on the A349 across Salisbury plain is a prime example. Set up for a corner with some enthusiasm and got the car nose down to loosen the back end a little before opening the throttle to put some power through the apex and "clonk". As with yours it's only when the front is loaded and typically on left hand corners, with the clonk coming from the left.
I've covered 30,000 miles with this problem and had the suspension checked out countless times but as yet no components on the front have needed replacing and nobody is reckless enough to be able to replicate it. When and if I get to the bottom of it I'll let you know.
