147 Electical Gremlins
I have had my 2002 147 1.6 TS for about 9 months now and it seems to be developing more serious electrical issues. Since I got it, the side light warning light has been on. On further inspection the other weekend, it seems a previous owner has cut the loom wire to the o/s rear side light and taken a feed from the n/s one across to the o/s light. This seems to be a cheap fix to solve the old issue of the o/s light staying permanently on. Which my research would lead me to beleive is my Body Computer being shot.
Having added replacing this on my "things to sort out" list, recently the heating fan has now stopped working. When you turn the key and all the diagnostics work (or not) you can hear the air con system doing its normal wirring noises, but now, no fan at all. Switching on the a/c button and adjusting the floor/windscreen etc dial you can hear the flaps moving, just no fan.
Should this be fixed by replacing the Body Computer, in which case, where is the best place to get this done and what is the likely cost ? Or could the two issues be unrelated ?
Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance
