Engine Mounts

I went into a garage intially with an exhaust problem, at the bottom of the downpipe (156 CF3) there is a bracket holding it onto the engine/gearbox, well this is cracked both at the front and back so the exhaust is vibrating a lot and rattling off the bracket. They had a look and said my engine mounts are also gone underneath, one at each side? and they could replace/weld up the bracket but the engine would shake it apart again.

So, one engine mount is £120, the other is £50, the bracket is £20 and 3hrs labour (£35 per hour) = £105.

Does this sound right?

Many Thanks!

The brackets seem to be prone to failing, but the mounts are generally quite robust.

I welded one back together a year ago, and it's held.

EB Spares are listing the mounts. One is a lot less than you've been quoted, the other is a bit more.
