Firstly, a little history. Last year I owned a 51 plate V6 Spider which I loved, but as a second car was a little too frivilous for my pocket. I sold it in Feb this year to help pay for my wedding.
However, I had been well and truly bitten by the Alfa Bug. Last month I bought a beautiful Alfa Red GT 2.0 JTS (to replace my everyday car, a 130bhp diesel Seat Toledo) with 18 inch wheels, full leather and parking sensors, a great spec. I paid nearly £7000 for it with 66k on the clock. Unfortunately, even after spending over £600 puttting some things right (anti roll bar linkage, 4 new coils, a brake light switch and an ipod adapter) I have come to the conclusion that it is Just Too Slow. (Also the gearbox is awful, and why is it doing nearly 4000rpm at 80mph in 5th gear? - it's crazy - no wonder I'm only getting 29mpg)
So...finanally.... to my point. Is it worth trading it in for a V6, perhaps this one?

I love the way my car looks and the V6 won't look any different but I miss the noise and the power, only just keeping up with modern diesel vans is embarrising .
I know the economy issue is a very big deal, it's why I didn't buy a V6 GT in the first place but my wife has a Smart car we can use if we are having a lean month.
Any comments/advice welcome, don't hold back, I've bought the wrong car, what should I do? Part ex it for a V6 or put up with it and stop moaning? I know I'll lose on my car but how much?
Thanks for a great forum.
