Help 156 Intake tuned length?

Where does the tuned length of the intake start and finish?
Do you need to take this into consideration if say you put on a pod filter (suitably shielded & with dedicated Cold air intake) onto the MAF sensor?
Where is the mechanism that changes the length of the intake (to increase torque) depending on the engine Revs? - I assume it is between the throttle body and the inlet valves.

Re: 156 Intake tuned length?

Starts at the valve, finishes at the filter (usually).

There is a variable intake manifold with long and short pipes.
These are changed by signals from the ECU and the change points can be altered by reprogramming.

Most bolt-on pod filters are way too close, especially the ones that clamp straight to the MAF sensor.
