Check the bottom of your arches!

After undersealing all of the bottom of the car in the parts alfa hadnt bothered i thought i was going to be pretty much set when it came to corrosion protection, then i saw the bottom of my front arches. There is a good sized patch (about an inch by half an inch square) where all the paint has been chipped off right where the wheel arch meets the sill. its an 03 156

Ive primed it and now will be painting it, its really not that bad as no rust has actually started ( am i right in thinking the body panels are galvanized?) and i know i am being a bit of a tart. Its obviously just caused by constant stone chips. probably gunna go for a bit of stone chip tape over the top of it when its done.

Also found out my brake fluid reservoir hadnt been bolted to the chassis very well, i meen literally hanging off!

My 156 had exactly the same thing. All of the paint was worn off but there was no rust.

The inner sills and floor at the rear below the rear footwells had big holes though so it was out with the tinsnips and the welder.

Our 2001 Fiat Bravo is also going rusty in the same place.
