2002 147 help/advise

Hi Guys,

Its been a while cos I had to sell my lovely GT Q2

i am thinking about buying a 2002 147 selespeed (69K on clock)with satnav/phone for approx £2800 that I have seen.

I need your expert advice on a couple of matters.

This car has had the cambelt already changed & the selespeed already replaced!..Is this relativity normal & are their any other things I should examine/ask regarding buying a 2002
Anything I should be looking out for & is it good value?

Cambelts should be done every 36,000 miles, so unless it was done after this, it's due again in 3,000 miles.

Actuators are usually replaced by people who don't know enough about them to fix what's really wrong with them!

Sounds pricey though. I've just been to see a 51 plate one with a snapped timing belt. Very clean externally but, like so many cars up here, getting pretty rotten underneath. There were a couple of large holes in the driver's side sill.

An 02 147 can be had for £1500-2000 with history belt change etc. I believe the selespeed has less of a following (rightly or wrongly) because of gearbox issues so you should get a better deal than you might with manual.Sat navs can be had for 80 quid with 2010 road maps and bluetooth etc easily changed from car to car with the rubber sucker!!

my 2002 selespeed with 48,000 miles cost £2595 back in February but to be fair I needed to do the belts etc. and had big issues ending up with the gearbox and clutch needing replaced..
