147 Indicator stalk

Over the last week or so during some very hot weather in Italy, I found our indicator switch to be very intermittant both left and right and it was as if I had to hold it against the stops to get either side indicators to work. Now we are back home it all seems to be okay again?

Does anyone have any ideas why this would happen before I strip down the binnacle? Is the switch providing a input to the CAN bus or is it a fairly conventional system using hard wires from flasher to stalk with ignition on and hazard switch to indicators at all other times? If its a CAN device it is starting to be similar to the passenger window switch which also has an intermittant attitude!!

Not experienced this in Hot weather, but at the moment I;m getting intermittent(delayed) indicator switching when its frosty/very cold temp. I can wait up to 5 seconds for them to activate. I presumed my problems were due to contraction due to cold temperature but not sure how this effects in hot temps??

Did you manage to solve the issue? I've actually purchased a new stalk module from ebay to see if this fixes my problems?

Sorry i cant be any help but was just interested in what/if you discovered anything to solve this?
