156 suspension woes
g'day all, the lad in his wisdom bought a 156 doosul. althought it had 'passed' a test just before he bought it the driveshaft boots were split. so after buying cheap stretchy universal ones and finding that they foul on the suspension uprights he is now trying to get the proper ones. ( storeman in alfa dealer's appears to be dislicksic as he ordered the wrong part n°) . He is now awaiting the correct boot for that part of his first adventure in alfa owning.
Next problem is his lower arm bushes, I have a 12 ton press but it struggled to get the bush out of the arm, so much so that he took them into work and used the 50 tonne press which managed to get it out with a bang at around 35 tonne.
problems solved yer'd think!
Oh no the bushes that fit on the sticky out shafts arrived while he was at work...............they don't fit. well they do fit if you count being able to slide them on and off by hand as fitting.
my question is " has he been over enthusiastic while removing said bushes and took off more than he should have?" or " are they two sizes of arm and bush for a '99 156?"
the shaft on the arm appears to be about 1mm smaller that the hole in the bush centre
any help mucho appreciated since it's his first adventure with Italian cars nd he's learning a few new swear words
