Re: 147 Engine Undertray Info from Alfa
I recently had the undertray removed by the garage to replace the lower wishbones. They decided not to replace it since they also wanted to replace the anti-roll bar drop links which were on order - its now 2 weeks later.
Anyway, something I've noticed is that the engine appears to run slightly hotter in traffic without the tray fitted - kind of assumed it would run cooler.
As for Alfa's excuse that they don't fit the undertray due to higher maintenance
- if you keep all the salt, dirt etc off the engine / gearbox / suspension - isn't that going to reduce maintenance not increase it
- but then that is Alfa UK logic for you - same as checking the timing belt but not replacing it.
