Alfa 166 CD changer
I've recently become an owner of an Alfa 166. The only problem that I have with the car is that it doesn't have a cd changer. To me it would sound a bit absurd to buy a cassete recorder and start recording some tapes in order to listen to them while driving - we live on the 21st century, cassetes are probably history.
So I asked a local Alfa dealer if they could fit a changer to my car. They kindly told me that they can but it would be a changer ordered from the Alfa factory and would cost the price of about 3 aftermarket cd stackers. That's why I started to look for cheaper options and came up with an option to transmit the cd signal to the head unit via FM antenna. Although this would allow me to use a "reagular" (cheaper) 'box, its just not what I've been looking for.
All in all my question would be: does anyone have any experience in installing a aftermarket cd changer which would be controlled via the factory fit head unit. I've understood that the head unit is supplied by Becker but the dealer didn't know (or didn't want to tell me) if there are any aftermarket changers that would be compatible with the head unit's software.
