'99 156 2.0TS Radio Aerial - where is it?

Hi all,

I have a real headache that I'm hoping someone will be able to assist me with...

I bought myself a '99 156 2.0TS, knowing that it needed a bit of work... and am in the process of trying to sort it out.

Top of the list was adding a stereo, I found that the previous owner had molested the wiring pretty severely, and ended up spending a fun afternoon going through each wire to work out what it was for! :S Having got it connected up two problems have emerged...

1) the dash doesn't seem to be deep enough to fit my stereo! The wire bundle out the back of the headunit seems to touch the back of the moulding so it won't engage fully... any ideas as to what I can do to shoehorn it in?

2) the Radio Aerial seems to have disappeared... I've routed around trying to find the co-axial cable and removed the panels under the steering column and glovebox, but can't seem to locate it! I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on where the cable runs... I have a workshop manual CD but it refers to LHD, and I'm guessing the Wiring switches for RHD - at least the Fuse box does!?

Any info. or advice much appreciated.

The wiring block can be pushed down behind the heating dials. As for the aerial, he may have just cut it back to make more room.

The aerial itself is in the rear window. Looks like part of the demister, but isn't.

Directly behind the radio is the air duct for the heating/aircon. There are moving flaps in that location that will stop moving if the radio distorts the ducting.
