Advise please

Hi Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am after some advise and information regarding my car. I have a 147 2.0 litre 16valve selespeed alfa, which I have had and loved for nearly 2 years. I have recently decided to look at trying to get some more power out of it. For the moment I have only got a cone air filter and no other mods.

I don't want to change any of the styling of my car, just change the performance. Can you guys (and gals) give me any good advise, tips or ideas to get some more power from my beast?

I dont really have a budget, but obviously more power for less dosh is the plan.

Please help and thank you in advance!

the most easy way to improve performance is to sell it and buy a v6

u can't easily get more power outta a 2.0 and that's a fact.

The only way is to internally change the engine, with cams and perhaps pistons being swapped out. At that point may as well rebuild.

After that u will gain little unless u fully map the car to how much fuel/air it can take at what rpm range.

You're looking at serious money, and if you want the car to still be streetable, u're prolly only looking at about 160-5hp at the crank, and a strict diet of 98RON.

powercut68, may have said what he said tongue in cheek, but he's dead right.

Don't waste your hard earned on a remap, just fit the GTA induction pipe before the filter to remove the airflow restriction then enjoy what it has without the grief that Nitropercent had when his ECU was destroyed by a certain company in the SE.
