Re: 156 Newbie - General Advise
1. If your car is 3 years old, it should probably have had a cambelt change; it'll be costly if it hasn't!
3. I concur with David C; my 2 litre manual 156 averages 380 miles to a tank (mostly calm motorway travel), although I've managed to get 418 miles out of it when carrying no passengers and driving like a vicar on his way to a tea party. The fuel gauge is ludicrously unreliable by the way - the light sometimes comes on when I've done just 280 miles, but experience has told me that there's still a third of a tank left. Worst consumption I've had is around 320 miles - when fully loaded and pushing it hard.
4. Yep, mine isn't so hot off the blocks at slow revs, but just pulls and pulls and pulls in higher revs. I think this is a characteristic of the engine. You can tease boy-racers at the lights by letting them think they're getting ahead, and then storm past seconds later.
Enjoy the car, it's a beauty!
