JTD thermostat change........HELPPPPPPPPP

52 plate 2.4 jtd 150bhp, changing the stat, all pipes disconected, top bolt undone and all is well.........How in hell do you remove the Bottom bolt on the stat, i've removed the 10mm nut that holds the support bracket for the torpedo shaped cooler? that sits under the stat, but how the hell do you move the bracket off the stud to get a 13mm socket on the stat bolt as there is no way to move the cooler away as it is tight up against the bottom T joint on the stat
I know i am missing something and will probably be a tad when someone tells me how its done

2.4 JTD thermostat change = extreme lower back pain, flayed knuckles and extreme frustration.
I've read that some people bend the bracket.
I partially removed the heat exchanger. It took so long I wished I'd bent the bracket.

You may want to change the thread title to say "thermostat" instead of "waterpump"...!
