Re: 147 CD Multichanger
Even if this is the case, the behaviour remains strange. I also have the A08 cd-changer and it never does that. Whenever I eject the tray to replace a cd, or disconnect the cd-changer's data cable, or disconnect the battery, or the head unit's power supply ( and i ve done those many times) it never scans all cds. It just loads the first cd and starts playing. If there is no cd at the first slot, it proceeds to the second cd in 2-3 seconds.
Ehm.. just a crazy thought.. I dont recall there is a random cd/track function, but.. have you accidentally enabled any random mode? So it "suffles" and choses a random track to play? Or does it scan all 10 cds and then it starts playing track No1 from cd No1 ?
I noticed you said "every time I start the car". Does this mean that the cd-changer scans all cds every time you start the engine?? When the ignition key is turn to start the engine, I mean at the position which the starting motor is running, the power supply of the head unit is temporarily cut (to have all battery power available for the starting motor). This could be the cause/solution to your problem. The cd changer's cable has a blue plug that "plugs" behind the head unit (control signals and sound) but it also has two extra wires, one 12V power supply and a ground. These are supposed to be connected to any available power supply close to the head unit, and obviously they re connected to the red wire ( whichs cuts of during the engine starting procedure). I dont know if the head unit sends the "scan all cds" signal on each "reset", or the cd changer does it itself, but giving an idependent, permanent power supply to the hu and/or to the cd-changer, could solve your problem. But this is just a speculation and it can only be proved in practice. Before messing with the hu's power supply, you can try disconnecting the changer's power supply for 3 seconds, to see how it will react.
You can also try the cd-changer with another Blaupunkt head unit, at any friend of yours who has a Blaupunkt, or at any Blaupunkt car audio shop, to see if it the cd-changer's fault itself.
