Its just the price of rolling road time, its a killer for a small scale project like this, but i completely agree typos.
what i was hoping to do, was hook up to my fiatecuscan, and try to graph the intake quantity and sensor values to see if i could guage an improvement between different elements, and stock box with a clean filter.
but i haven't studied the parameters available yet, and so not sure if it would be conclusive, air intake temp is what i'd really like to see too.
plus, i'm not about to go out an buy 10 filters, just not practical on the wallet! but i'm open to suggestions?
Had one thought, and that was to keep the stock air box container as a heatshield, without the lid, or with a collar plate lid as part of the air pipe, and duct as much cold air into it as possible including the original incoming trumpet. Then using whatever we decide on for a cone/twin cone filter, sat inside the box, and piped up to the maf as effieciently as possible.
using the oe box this way could help compensate for removing the resonator air pocket that is side attached to the stock air intake pipe. These are usually to store a quanitity of air so that on snapping open the throttle there is a pocket of air to pull from before the suction pulls more fresh through the filter, so throttle response should be very good as a large general pocket full of fresh ducted air will always be available, rather than having to pull on the filter in open air first.
am i making sense, have i explained that in a way you guys can understand, or just sound like a jibbering rant from too much UHU in the room?
