2003 147 jtd instrument fault

Hi guys,

Today after removing the earth from the battery to enable me to remove steering wheel airbag safely to change stalks, i ended up with the instruments going daft, the speedo is dim now reeding in km's and flashing and the main display is dim and reads mqs not programmed, and the computer is not working at all. Does anyone know whats gone wrong and a simple fix.

Thanks Matt

Disconnect the battery again, check all the plugs are connected tightly behhind the dash and arond the fusebox and then reconnect the battery again, if that fails you needa proxy alignment.
