I have no wish to hijack this thread but i see no point in starting a similar one!!
I have a late '98 156 V6, which came with the older style Momo leather (NO Airbag style)
Drivers seat had NO electrical wiring from seat BUT did have a Black plug coming out of carpet under seat (Not connected to anything !!!!!)
Passenger seat had a yellow sheathed lead coming from under carpet with small white connector to the seat wiring (i believe this wiring detects a passenger and is ultimately linked to the seatbelt pre-tensioners on this model) ..please correct me if i am wrong!
Now, this is my dilemma, I have just fitted the LATER style Momo Leather (WITH THE AIRBAGS IN SEAT)..............my problem is the connectors from the passenger seat are completely different (and larger) ..I am not looking to get the airbags working, i understand that the wiring wont support that!
My only concern is that as i can't connect the connectors on the new style passenger seat to the original connector and therefore the airbag light on the dash is ON permanently (obviously!)
So...I Guess , I need to cut off the original small connector on the old seat and cut off & discard the new style/larger yellow connector on the new airbag seat AND splice in the small connector to make the connection..and then my airbag light will go off
Question; which wires do i connect together ?????
ps. there is two wires in the connector coming from under the carpet BUT there is Three wires coming from under the New seat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..............All different bleeding colours!!!!!
