156 1,9JTD 8V, hesitating around 3000

Hi everybody. I have a 01MY 156 1,9jtd 8v 115bhp. It has 135000km on the clock.
I bought it 4 years ago, but just got it back (got two kids in 4 years now, so I bought a Volvo V70 instead, now sold)

Sooo... a few questions some of you might be able to answer. I don't know how this car is to drive when new, but I do believe I have some minor problems.

When I accelerate the car hesitates under less than a sec when the rev hits the 3000 rpm mark. Anybody had this problem before?

Also, I really have press the accelerator hard if anything is to happen, I feel that I have to use the accelerator a lot more "pressed down" when driving this car against a petrol car . But, when I floor it, the car flies.

I have good turbo whissle, so the turbo is winding up good, but perhaps the varable nozzles are stuck? Also, maybe the EGR is stuck open.

How is it to clean the EGR or block it on this car? Easy task and no fault- codes?
Anybody changed MAF's on these diesels?

Kind regards

Cleaning EGR is easy enough, less than an hours work. I posted a thread on here after doing mine... http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/t212079/

Yours has different symptoms though...
