Hi, I have had loads of good info from here, so I hope someone can help me.
I have a 2000 (Y plate) 156 1.8TS, I was giving it a little blast after cleaning up the sparkplugs and leads hoping to fix an occasional misfire...
After about 5-10 mins the car sputtered and the engine was struggling to idle, I was stuck on the road and the only way to get clear of the dual carriageway (
) was to drive it on the starter motor whilst slipping the clutch... at which point the immobiliser light came on, and stayed on...
Got towed home.
So, the situation is, the engine turns over, but wont light because, a) no fuel pumping to the engine (it has over 1/4 of a tank) and, b) no ignition even with easy-start being sprayed down the inlet.
I am only getting the immobiliser code light illuminating, but not the ECU injector light.
I have cleaned up the relays by the battery, and run a multi-meter over the immobiliser aerial (reading 5.5 ohms, I hear 8 is ideal, could this be the problem?)
I bought the code for an emergency start and cant even get the ECU injector light to come on using the accellerator pedal.
About 2 weeks ago I changed the crank sensor due to a 'no-start situation' also, but apart from the misfire the car WAS running fine.
My wife loves this car, but I just want the flippin thing to work
