Iv got an Alfa 147 1.6ts. Its a 2001 on a Y reg and done 70k miles.
It has done me pretty well over the last 2 years. Only costs me £1500 when I bought it.. Ok here are the problems.
1) ECU light on
2) Airbag light is on
3) It sounds like a Diesel (idles fine, just sounds like a diesel)
4) A spring in the gearbox has gone, so it no longer returns to neutral when you take it out of gear.
5) The Aircon smells funny (just started blowing out smelly air, no idea what it is)
6) When trying to change the sidelight bulb, i broke the clip. So the side light has a blown bulb and I can now not get it out. Suppose i need to take the whole headlight out to try and get to the back of the bulb.
Apart from the above mentioned problems, the car itself actually still drives really nice. Still really nippy and I took it on a 400mile round journey the other day and apart from the lights on the dashboard, it didnt miss a beat.
Is it really worth getting it fixed or wait for the day it just dies on me and and have it crushed
. Or do I just sell it as spares or repairs. Its gotta be worth a few hundred quid to someone dont you think?
Let me know your thoughts.
