147 woes

Had my 147 for a few months now and have a few issues now and cant decide if its best to just run it into ground, spend money on it or sell as spares/repairs. It needs rear shocks replacing and the multifunction computer is faulty so front windows wont work, also need to replace top and bottom arms on front suspension. I can fix suspension bits for about 400 but to get the windows working im looking at 200+ and the air-con has a leak so that could cost a bit to fix and with the warm weather its very hot to drive around in. opinions and help appreciated as its a money pit at the moment.

147 JTD

Upper and lower arms should only cost 300 if you fit them yourself - The Alfa Workshop, independent specialist Alfa Romeo garage and web resource
These guys can supply parts plus have self fit guides for both if your unsure whether to take this on or not - I did my upper ones yesterday, took about hour and a half in total, was easy.
Rear suspension is straight forward too - you can get new shocks and springs all round for 180 if you shop around.
I have no idea on the computer - I assume this is separate from the ECU? Get one from a breakers perhaps?
Though the air con leaks might be simple fix again breakers for leaking parts.
Looks as though you gotta spend 600+ on new parts to get all these sorted or alternatively there are specialist Alfa breakers who would sure to do a deal on a number of parts

All depends if your handy with a spanner plus what the cars worth, worth to you, how old and what model?

I've just bought a 1.9 JTD and am having issues myself - still wondering if I've done the right thing but Im gonna persevere a bit longer
