Lumpy Tickover

Please could anybody suggest a series of checks to identify my lumpy tickover? My EOBD light is on, which has happened before after taking the battery out and knocking the MAF. This has reset after 20miles and repositioning of air tubes.
I have taken MAF out and run it and things are worse. So Icleaned it in alcohol anyway and replaced it. I,ve checked the 4 wire LAMBDA sockets and cleaned with contact cleaner. Is it worth removing the sensors 1 and 2 and cleaning them? Bit lost where to go next, MOT due soon and I,m sure that this will fail the emissions. e.g. sooty build up, over rich fuel smell.

ps. I did replace the air filter a couple of months ago and the car runs very well over 1000rpm and at speed. it is also fine whilst auto choke is engaged at start up. Just very lumpy and shaky otherwise at tickover
Any help or thread irection appreciated!

I would have that code read if I were you. It might throw up something to go on.
It may also benefit from having the throttle body cleaned and an idle reset done
