Alfa156 JTD 16V don't start,P0606 DTC
Dear members thank you for your help, I'm new and I hope maybe somebody can help me. Excuse me also for my english level.
My alfa engine don't start at all any longer. At the begining of the problem, the engine stopped and I could restart and drive normally without any symptom feeling. This happened several times before the engine stops definitively. The diagnostic tool gives a single trouble code : P0606 which means ECU/PCM processor fault. Before looking for a new ECU I try to understand if something wrong at the outside may have cause the ECU dammage. I don't want to 'burn' a replacement ECU.
Inspecting the engine, I noticed that the trottle valve is in the full open position, and remains fully open when I just turn the key on (without cranking).
My first question, can somebody having a similar car check on its own car if the trottle valve is open or closed when the contact is off. and also what happens whith this valve when the key is turned on.
my second question : since at the begining the failures were intermittent and the engine was running fine between two failures, is it possible that a bad electrical contact on a chip pin may simply be the trouble cause.
and third and last question: can you indicate me one or several societies which have the technical skill and equipment to repair ECU devices.
Thank you all very much for your help
