Sadly they do suffer from rust, I now have a hole in my rear floor pan where I jacked it up (yeah I know but I did use a bit of 4x2 to spread the weight as I needed to put axle stands on the jacking points, and it still went through) turns out the lower ridges on my near side rear floor pan are all rusty towards the back.
So sometimes soon I need to clean it all up cut out the rot and plate it up, I guess I could do it properly and fit a replacement floor pan but on a 10 year old car with 180 000 miles its not worth it.
They also have a habbit of rusting on the sills under the side skirts, luckily mine seem to be fine its just the rear near side floor pan
