Hi, I have started using my low-ish mileage 156 fro trips to my new place of work some 250 miles from where I live and got stuck in traffic when I noticed that the temp gauge was getting a bit hot. The traffic cleared and still the gauge went up and the red light came on. After a couple of mins it started to drop. I just put it down to being stationary for a while. This morning after only travelling about 5 mins I got stuck in a bit of traffic and the temp gauge started to go up. Then the traffic cleared but the needle kept going up, then dropping to less than 90 then back up to the red light.
I can't be certain but I think the water pump was changed when the cam belt was done a couple of thousand miles ago ( done at 63k but car only done 65k ). Could it be this or something less costly?
I had a look at the radiator and some of the fins look a bit squashed too.
