Why not just leave your sidelights on?
These can be some of the reasons I am facing as we have here "lights on" 24/7 by law:
- blowing bulbs - cost is not really the problem, but the bulb replacement on Alfa is PITA
- blowing A/C bulbs - with sidelights are the dashboard lights are obviously on as well and my A/C bulbs keep blowing (147 with manual AC). They are difficult to find in shops and I need to remove radio, cupholder and AC from dash to replace
- higher alternator load
- turning the lights on dimms the radio and boardcomputer and I cant see much on the displays during the bright sunny days.
I am also considering DRL at the moment but I dont want to spoil alfa design. I was thinking of hardwiring foglights on a separate switch on the dash to be able to turn them on and off independently of the main lights swith.
