I just took my GT to my local (non Alfa) garage today for a service, but also asked them to check the brakes and the windows.
The brakes had a slightly long brake pedal and they said I need a new master cylinder. They said the pads were fine and just bled the brakes, but on driving home - I now have virtually no brakes at all, far worse than when I started.
Also, I have had a problem with both windows. The passenger side raises and lowers but would not lower all the way, maybe 1/2 inch from the bottom and made a noise as if it was rubbing against something. Now it lowers all the way but makes a worse noise. Because of this the driver's side could not find it's 'limits' and went into the mode where it just moves an inch at a time. After re-setting the limits quite a few times, I eventually got the driver's window working again for a while, But then it stuck in the up position and has not worked since. I had the window ECU replaced last December so it shouldn't be that. The garage did not really look at the windows today, but have just said it is the regulators. What they have done though is move the window down about an inch , still stuck but now no longer secure!
Have you come across the above before, can you offer any advice? I don't want to replace the regulators if it is just an issue with the logic, and if the ECU has failed again, it should be under warranty.
Also, if I do need parts who is best for discount or 2nd hand parts? I have sent a message to Auto Lusso already!
